Our pillars
-
We place deep value on community involvement. With events like our Craft Your Health Fair and F1rst Thursdays, we create spaces of wellness, creativity, and connection within our Bruin community! Tabling for events like Bruin Beans Health Expo and Volunteer Appreciation Week throughout the year also gives Art MEDified volunteers a chance to interact directly with their community and make a positive impact on those around them by playing educational games with other students.
-
Art MEDified hosts countless arts-based health literacy workshops throughout the school year! With activities like junk journaling, tote bag painting, and more, we provide students across campus with the opportunities to immerse themselves in art, connect with one another, and take a break from the stress of school while still developing their health knowledge!
-
Every fall, we select a new class of interns from our general volunteers, who get to put together their own initiative through winter and spring. One of our latest intern projects has involved the creation of our very own cookbook — HeARTy Eats! We also hosted a nutrition seminar to discuss healthy eating and share some of our favorite recipes! Even if you aren’t the one spearheading projects like this, we love getting lots of committee members involved.
-
Art Medified volunteers value getting to know one another on a deeper level. Whether it’s Big-Little, Senior gifts, retreat, hikes, or study nights, we’ve turned Art Medified into a family—one where we can not only bond over our shared passions of art and medicine, but also make core memories that we will never forget!
-
We’re always looking to bring additional volunteer and professional development opportunities to you! One of our favorites are guest speaker sessions, our blog, and fundraisers. Our guest speaker events to allow club volunteers to get a glimpse of the careers of medical professionals and further explore what career in medicine they’d like to pursue. Meanwhile, our blog (Bandages & Brushstrokes) has provided chapter volunteers with the opportunity to publish educational articles and have their voices heard. Lastly, fundraisers are a great way to give back to the Art Medified community and help us continue bringing the world of health literacy and art to others!
