Meet the Board of Directors

Founder and President

Ashley is an emerging health literacy advocate and community organizer. After receiving her first medical school acceptance at age 17, Ashley founded Art MEDified in order to further health literacy in her community. Under her leadership, the organization has generated 51K social media views and over $1300 in revenue in the first quarter of 2025 alone. In her spare time, she enjoys serving in 10 leadership roles across various UCLA student organizations, volunteering at local hospitals, and being an internationally competitive songwriter.

Treasurer

Sophie is an ambitious investment banking analyst with a strong foundation in wealth management. Through her hands-on internship experience at Northwestern Mutual and The Amazing Group, LLC, she has developed her deep understanding of financial analysis, valuation techniques, and strategic advisory services. She contributes her professional skills to Art MEDified as Treasurer for the Board of Directors and UCLA chapter, contributing to our over $1300 in revenue in the first quarter of 2025. Beyond her professional pursuits, Sophie is a traveller and passionate ballroom dancer.

Secretary

Karissa is a rising public health advocate and molecular medicine researcher. She proposed her first dissertation on Alzheimer’s disease at age 17 and is currently continuing her research on the disease as a UCLA CARE Fellow. This summer, she will study Alzheimer Disease’s biological progression at the University of Cambridge. Apart from her passion for neurobiology, Karissa is passionate about nurturing her creative side, earning recognition from the California Educational Theatre Association. She also finds joy in her work as Founder and President of Amplified, a tight-knit circle of diverse creatives at UCLA.
